Hi, can you please evaluate my profile and answer some of my queries?

I am a recent graduate and graduated in May 2010. I did my major in Comp science and engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (ranked highly among the top tech universities and topmost in India)

Currently working in a major international bank in the finance IT dept, since June 2010

gmat - 710 (v39, q49, awa5.5)
gpa- 6.1/10 ( really low acc to international standards, but average gpa in my institute is 6)
extra-currics - excellent, have led dance teams for 2 years during college.
Also involved in sports. Have led cricket teams at both school and college level.
A national level shooting player
social work - yes, 4 months full time and part-time since May 2007
internships- 2 excellent summer internships with great output. One in Ireland, the other in India(in the same bank in which im currently working)
recommendations- have 2 strong recommendations, one from my internship superwiser, other from a professor

Looking at my profile, what are the chances that i can get through an MBA prgm of any b-school from the top 15-20 b-schools?

Can you please suggest any university from the top 15-20 b-schools that takes in recent graduates?

Thanks a lot in advance.

Hi,

Thanks for your post. To get right down to it, I don't know of any top 15-20 business schools that accept candidates without work experience. It is strongly encouraged to have at least 2 years of experience before applying to business school. Not only do schools value this, but students do as well. Many schools use cases as part of their curriculum (if not all of it), and in order to really participate in and understand many case discussions real life work experience is essential. I strongly encourage you to work for 2 years and continue to build your extracurricular activities and then apply to business school.

Best,

Stacey
