Hi Stacy,

Needed you to evaluate my profile and suggest some target schools that I could apply to.

Here's what my profile is like -

Female, Indian - 24 years old
GMAT -760
UnderGrad - 3.3 GPA (Electrical Engineering)
3 years of work experience at the time of joining.

2 years at TCS - a Software Consulting Firm (IT)
7 months at a start up Digital Marketing company as a Manager - Social Media Marketing & Online Marketing

I am working at a very Technology - intensive company, which implements & designs tools to provide consumer insights to marketing managers. I find that I understand technology (basis my Engineering degree & IT background), am able to gauge client requirements (as seen while doing Online & social media marketing).

Short Term Goal- To work with technology to either provide new platforms for marketing or
To work in a role which allows me to explore different ways in which Technology and marketing can be married to optimize marketing efforts.

Long Term Goal - Although, still quite hazy but I would love to work on a product concept & design aimed at marketing managers. Obviously, I would like to spend considerable time as a marketing manager to gain understanding into what's needed.

Extra Currics - I have mostly been on the organizing front. On the undergrad level, I've organized a number of events in college.
Done some volunteer work while I was working at TCS - taught underprivileged kids for about 6 months.

Could you please evaluate my profile for both Kellogg MBA as well as the MMM program (My Dream choices!)? or suggest other schools that I could apply for, more realistically?

I would love it if you could throw some light on the how the two programs compare - is MMM more rigorous, the preferred student profiles etc

Dear mansi@mba,

You have a competitive profile for Kellogg, both the MBA and MMM program, as well as most other business schools. Kellogg is highly selective, so I do encourage you to do some research and identify some other programs that might be a good match for you. You will want to have a mix of schools, at least a couple where your chances are greater. For tips on identifying schools, please read our sticky on school selection.

The MMM is done in conjunction with the MBA at Kellogg, so they are not mutually exclusive programs. The MMM is a joint degree program combining the MBA with a MEM degree; it is for those with a strong career focus on the design and operations side of the business in terms of products and services. Since the MMM program is limited to a certain number of students each year, it will be a bit more selective than the MBA program. For details on the class profiles and programs, please visit the Kellogg website as much of that information is there for you.

Good luck,
Lisa
