I am pretty ignorant about British Universities, so perhaps you can explain what 2.2 means? Is Surrey a well known school?

A 650 is a so-so school by top school standards. You could probably apply to a bunch of top 25 programs comfortably, but I'm wondering if top 10 will seriously consider you. What was your breakdown? High quant?

Since your profile isn't very detailed it's hard to give advice, but I'd say apply to 2 reach and 2 target in round 1, that way you can see if you need to dial back and apply to less competitive schools in round 2. Or if there's a school that you're totally in love with, regardless of whether it's a safety, target, or reach, apply round 1 to show you're interested (especially if it's Columbia).

In truths I believe that a GPA is transferable no matter what college or university was attended. Regardless, a GPA score is universal, meaning if you got a 2.2 GPA in a British university, it will be treated the same internationally as a 2.2 in an American college or another country.

With having so many years of work experience under your belt, obtaining some great recommendation letters world pose as a benefit in gaining an acceptance into a top college. Especially those coming from close superiors such as, a supervisor or a manager. With having a 650 Gmat score, you have the possibility to get into some great schools, though that score could also be a drawback for some of the top schools. I would focus on getting great recommendations, and an amazing essay to help compliment your overall application for acceptance.

Researching schools is recommended as well, each school carries their own entrance criteria standards. The more schools you research, the better understanding you will develop before applying.
