In effort to combat the three consecutive years of boll weevil infestations, cotton farmers have started using Eradicon, a chemical just released to market, capable of emitting an odor that effectively repels the boll weevil. The agricultural board expects that cotton production on those farms using Eradicon will return to levels similar as those from three years ago.

Which of the following, if true, does the most to support the agricultural board's prediction that the use of Eradicon, will have the desired effect?

A. The global demand for cotton has decreased sharply over the past three years.

B. Some farmers who originally chose not to use Eradicon have expressed interest in using it on their farms.

C. Eradicon does not wash away even during intense periods of rain.

D. Some boll weevil show a more intense reaction to Eradicon than do other boll weevil

E. AgriProp, the creators of Eradicon, are working on a new chemical that will last even longer than Eradicon

Is the answer C?
All other seem out of scope or irrelevant

Thanks!
