perfume Aurora

The new perfume Aurora smells worse to Joan than any comparably priced perfume, and none of her friend likes the smell of Aurora as much as the smell of other perfumes. However, she and her friends must have a defect in their sense of smell, since Professor Jameson prefers the smell of Aurora to that of any other perfume and she is one of the world’s foremost experts on the physiology of smell.

From the information presented in the support of the conclusion, it can be
properly inferred that

(A) none of Joan’s friends is an expert on the physiology of smell
(B) Joan prefers all other perfumes to Aurora
(C) Professor Jameson is not one of Joan’s friends
(D) none of Joan’s friends likes Aurora perfume
(E) Joan and her friends all like the same kinds of perfumes

(D) none of Joan’s friends likes Aurora perfume .......Premise is comparative and this is fact and hence wrong
(E) Joan and her friends all like the same kinds of perfumes....nothing mentioned about everybody liking same perfume.

IMO C

All other answers use extreme words.

Excellent question

I got this wrong though.
Was stuck between C and D

However on close scrutiny, D gets eliminated because it talks of Joan's Friends liking of Aurora whereas the argument talks about the degree of liking between Aurora and other perfumes, which definitely does not imply that the friends do not like Aurora.

I arrived at C as well. Here's why:

A: Not true; it is possible that an expert smeller dislikes Aurora compared to other perfumes.

B: Not true; Joan prefers other perfumes of comparable price to Aurora than Aurora.

C: Yes; if Jameson was one of Joan's friends, then the claim that none of Joan's friends like the smell of Aurora as much as the smell of other perfumes would be incorrect.

D: Not true; this is an absolute answer while the premise in the passage is a relative one (comparing to other perfumes).

E: Not true; they don't like Aurora as much, but their other choices may be deeply varied.
