90th percentile of 80 = 9/10 * 80 = 72 (71 below, 8 above)

Class 2
xth percentile of 100 = x% * 100 = 100 - 19
x * 100 = 81
x = 81/100
= .81 or 81%

Together
Her combined grade rank / Possible ranks
(72 + 81) / (80 + 100)
153 / 180
85% or 85th percentile.

Amy was the 90th percentile of the 80 grades for her class, therefore, 10% are higher than Amy's, 10%*80 = 8.

19 of the other class was higher than Amy. Totally, 8 + 19 = 27

Then, the percentile is:

(180 - 27)/180 = 85/100
