A computer has three hard-drives; the smallest and largest hard-drives account for 25 and 45 percent of the total storage space on the computer, respectively; due to a catastrophic error, the largest hard-drive lost approximately 22% of its storage space; after this error, the second largest hard drive accounts for approximately what percent of the total hard-drive space on the computer?

A)22%
B)39%
C)20%
D)17%
E)45%

I go with B .39%

smallest= 25%
largest = 45%
hence the second largest is 100 - ( 25+45) = 30%

if the largest HD looses 22% its new capacity is 45-22 = 23 ( i initially thought it should be 22% of 45 , but we are talking abt % . so its cant be)

thus the new total storage of HD is 25% + 30% + 23%

hence the second largest accounts for 30/ 78 = 39%.

hope it helps..
