In a class of 350 Students 60% are men. 30% of men in the class swim and 40% of the students of the class swim. What % of the women in the class swim?

A. 10%
B. 20%
C. 22%
D.44%
E. 55%

Don't worry about the 350 people call it 100.

60% are men.

60 men

30% of the men swim

60 x .3 = 18

If 40% swim then 22 are women.

22 of 40 women swim, or 55%

Thx for the reply Jim.

When I read the the qn "What % of women in the class swim?", I thought that percent needs be calculated as (Women who swim/total students)*100.
I put Total students of the class in the denominator since the qn asked abt % of women in the class who can swim.

Is my interpretation of the qn correct? If not, then can you let guide me what went wrong here.
