In a certain museum gift shop, did sales of calendars account for 15 percent of the shop's $40,000 revenue for the month of December?
(1)In December, sales of calendars brought in 1/7 as much revenue as sales of all other items.
(2)In December, the shop sold a total of 625 calendars for $8 each.

Statement 1) Let us say revenue from all other items but calendars is 7x, then revenue from calendars becomes x.
We know x + 7x = 40000 , x = 5000.
Sufficient!!!
Statement 2) Sufficient as we can find the exact value.
