On average, the number of speeding tickets issued in County X every year is three times greater than the number of speeding tickets issued in County Y during the same period. Therefore, the number of people who exceed the speed limit must be higher in County X than in County Y.
Which of the following describes a flaw in the reasoning above?


The argument fails to take into account that the speed limit may be different in the two counties.


The argument fails to take into account that the number of tickets issued in County X may reflect a lower proportion of drivers overall in that county.

IMO C for this

conclusion: the number of people who exceed the speed limit in County X must be higher than the number who exceed the speed limit in County Y on the grounds that the number of tickets issued in County X is higher

flaw is the author wrngly assumes that every ticket corresponds to a different individual

only C brings this flaw in light

Lolz.. :mrgreen: .. i second thephoenix...I am not that regular but still weekly i check out on this forum. Of late i have been seeing huge surge in questions being posted , where many have already been discussed .Some repeat posts are back to back..clearly shows the motives of the posters as being out of sheer contest interest ..

I can certainly feel a big difference over last couple of weeks .

I am not sure , but i wish this whatever race/contest is going on ends sooner than later . Atleast then we can have serious questions and discussions happening . In this mad race ,now you have many Gmat Destroyers getting created within a week :shock:
