Dear bharani,

All work experience is important and considered in your evaluation as an applicant for business school. However, when you look at the number of years experience that is reported, that is only the number of years experience that applicants have where they worked full-time in a professional capacity after graduating with a bachelor's degree. So, any part-time experience would not count in your years of experience number, but you would include it in your application and on your resume.

With regards to your GMAT score, you are most competitive at schools where your GMAT is close to or above the school's average GMAT score. So, if you score a 600, then you will want to look at schools with GMAT averages at a 600 or less as your reasonable to safety options. Reach schools would be those with GMAT averages in the 610 or higher range. Since you are applying as an international student, you will be up against pretty tough competition for a few seats. I encourage you to aim for a GMAT score more in the 650+ range to give you more options.

Good luck,
Lisa
