After moving to Switzerland in the 1890's, Albert Einstein attended the Swiss Federal Polytechnic School in Zurich, receiving in-depth training in quantitative analysis and developing a foundation for his future work in mathematical physics.

While he was at the Swiss Federal Polytechnic School, Albert Einstein engaged in 2 things:
1. Receiving in-depth training in quantitative analysis
2. Developing a foundation for his future work in mathematical physics

Since both of these happened while he was at the Polytechnic, the 2 verbs must be parallel. This is why B is incorrect and A is correct.

Apart from Meaning, does B have any parallelism errors ?

Thank you !

Missing the obvious ! My bad !

Thank you !

Will this be right "attended the Swiss Federal Polytechnic School in Zurich, receiving in-depth training in quantitative analysis ,and developed" ??? Just curious !

you can always hit the thank you button :)

answer to your 2nd question - nope it would still be incorrect. logically you can't place attended in parallel with developed, however grammatically it may be ok.
