according to what i know two lines are parallel when their slops are equal
so we have to find the slop of the known line
x=1.44-3y or 3y=1.44-x thus y=-1/3x+1,44
and since we know the slop is -1/3
so only D makes sense
You are doing the same mistake that i did when i solving it first.
x=1.44-3y -------------- (1)
Now it can be written as
3y = 1.44 - x
y = - x/3 + 1.44/3
y = -x/3 + .48------------ Changed form of the equation that is given in the question
Slope of this question is
-1/3
Now option C
y+x/3=10 --------- ( 2 )
y = - x/3 + 10
Slope of this question is -1/3
Now take option D
y=0.48-x/3
slope of this line is -1/3 but the value of C is and this C is y = mx+c ( c = .48 )
Now c is same the value in option D then it can't be parallel , it will just over lap the first line.
So the Correct option should Be C.
