If-Then Clause Rules:

present will + base verb
past would/could + base verb
past perfect would.could + have + base verb

Examples:
If John arrives, we will start -- Present (If Clause). WILL + Base Verb (Then Clause).
If John arrived, we would start -- Past (If Clause). Would + Base Verb (Then Clause).
If John had arrived, we would have started -- Past Perfect (If Clause). Would + HAVE + Past Participle (Then Clause).

Papgust above is an excerpt drawn from your flash cards. Please tell which of the above 3 cases can be subjunctive .
What in case of "If i were to ..."

Hi friends,

I have query regarding my SC preparation strategy:

I am done with Manhattan Sentence Correction guide and some other couple of SC notes So as far as preparation material is concern I have enough amount of that.

Now to start with practice questions,I started with OG12, solved first 50 and got some 40 correct.

Then i thought of doing practice questions from some other source so that I can keep OG 12 for later use.Hence I tried my hands on 1000SC. My accuracy in 1000SC was quite low as compared to OG, moreover I felt that since 1000Sc does not provide with explanation I should do questions with available explanations to improve my concepts further.

Please suggest some source of good SC practice questions with explanation (either softcopy or hardcopy)
Or please guide me if my strategy needs some changes.

thanks

Hi,

I'm extremely sorry to reply late. I would suggest that you PM any instructor (preferably Ron!) to clarify your doubt. I've been out of touch with GMAT for nearly 5 months and my strategies/foundation have become too rusty.

Hi,

My suggestion is "Do not try 1000 SC/CR at all". 1000 RC might be fine just for reading practice.

Regarding the resources for SC, always try to stick with the official guides (OG12, OG verbal 2nd edition). If you exhaust these resources, try Kaplan/Veritas Prep. You may find various book reviews in BTG reviews section.

Also, I have been hearing great things about e-gmat (an on-line resource). Just sign up for a trial class and see how it goes for you.

Hi,

I'm not sure what exactly you are looking for. However, I guess you meant to ask whether all flashcards are there in a single file/post. If so, then here it is - https://www.beatthegmat.com/papgust-s-gm ... tml#276594

Nice post.
I wonder, what is the difference between each and every.
The both are singular, aren't they? So when do we prefer one over the other? Has it to do something with countable and uncountable nouns?
Please help me differentiate.

Thank you.

Hmm.. If you can't figure out yourself, PM any GMAT instructor in this forum to answer your query. I'm sure that they will help you much more than you need.

@silvelineinsky

There is nothing wrong in attempting questions from SC1000. In whichever question you are stumped, try to search those questions for the explanation on various forums, e.g., BTG, Manhattan. Try Google the questions, you would get links to relevant forums.

I found explanation to all my doubt questions on these forums. All the best!

Hi guys,

I am confusing how to use "seem to + verb" and "seem to be + V-ing". Can you guys help me to explain how to use both?
Many thanks.
