The artist might sketch a plan of their unique subject before to finally placing pigment about the surface. "Pigment" are actually numerous natural substances with color, just like sulphur for yellow or cobalt for blue. The pigment is blended with oil, usually linseed oil but other oils should be used as well. The various oils dry differently, creating assorted effects.
