Hi Eric... just thought I should share this honest feedback with you...

Band width could be an issue for few of us. Fortunately the BTG forums load pretty fast.

But off-late I have been pouring over the forums like many hours a day....(rescheduled my date from 17th to 6th)

I see that the "facebook fanpage script" takes time for loading...

it takes about 2 seconds from it to look like this

to look like this...(i.e. the page to completely load)

I see the actual time the script might be taking is to load is to randomly pick up 8 out of the 3000 odd followers of BTG.
Moreover it seems that the script seems to randomize one by one the 8 people rather than picking up 8 in one go.

( I say this because, we find links to the profile of some people and no links because of the privacy settings of other people)

I think it would be a neat idea to have a Facebook link & Like option something like this...

I picked this up from an online trading website popular here in India, which would have taken utmost care of the
"page load experience".

Just a suggesting if we could implement on BTG....
U might just be feelin... that an aspiring portfolio manager is behaving just like one ;-)

This is a really interesting idea to save on page load. Let me send this to David, who is our tech expert here!

Thanks for this suggestion,

Eric

Hi Arora,

Thanks for the update. I was thinking about changing the FB fan page widget so that it doesn't show the pictures at all. I'll discuss with Eric later today. We'll make some changes that I hope will improve page load times. Will update you after it's done.
