If X and y are integers and 3^x-4 = 3^y-2, which is y in terms of x?

x-6
x-5
x-2
x+2
x+6

can someone break this down for me
and when I see y in terms of x what should i be thinking?

I think when the bases are equal on left hand side and right side like this the exponents that they are raised to are equal.

I am assuming the problem is

3^(x-4) = 3 ^(y-2)

So in this problem

x-4 = y-2

x-4+2 = y

x-2 = y

So y interms of x is x-2

Choose C)
