PR = sqrt(x^2 + y^2), so total distance = y + sqrt(x^2 + y^2)

time = distance/speed, speed = z

so, time = (y + sqrt(x^2 + y^2))/z

N- S - E- W are always right angles my friend. If it was north west or something then it would be 45 degrees and so on.
