We have to support the claim that the bottled water in no good in improving performance...and this can only be supported by statement C
if the only way to get oxygen into the bloodstream is through the lungs...then no matter how much the water is used by the athletes it wont do any good...because its the lungs that play the important role to get the oxygen...to the bloodstream......
And remember lungs do not take in water they take air....

First, know what is the role of the boldface statement --> Its role is to tell us that the SuperOXY thing is not going to work. Hence we need to pick an answer which tells the same thing.
Statement C does this very well.

IMO D. This is because it says that amount of oxygen is not a limiting factor.
This is true because the muscles would not be able to take any more oxygen.Hence a factor other than the amount of oxygen could play a part.

Be very careful with such questions.. Although statement D does a fine job of weakening the conclusion, it does not play the same role as the boldface statement.
The boldface statement weakens the argument by directly challenging "how Superoxy is not going to help with the oxygen intake." This is what you should be looking for!!! A statement that answers this question.

Focus of BF: O2 is useless for improving physical performance
Focus of C: O2 in bloodstream helps improve physical performance. Water cannot provide that. Only lungs can.
Focus of D:It is assuming that O2 in H20 is responsible for improving physical performance . It is weakening my conclusion.
What is my conclusion: O2 in H2O DOES NOT HELP IN IMPROVING PHYSICAL PERFORMANCE.
If BF strengthens my conclusion, answer should also strengthen conclusion. However D is weakening conclusion.
