? on taking notes on errors

Hey guys....i know quite a few of you take notes on mistakes. Right now for the math section, i write down the problem that i got incorrect and solution and refer to that every other day to digest how to solve that type of problem. Is that an effect means of taking notes? What type of info do you write down as notes to help improve from errors?
