On a certain assembly line, the rejection rate for Monday’s production was 4 per cent, for Tuesday’s 8 per cent, and for the two days combined 7 per cent. What was the ratio of Tuesday’s production to Monday’s production?

Should be something like this:

0.04X+0.08Y=0.07
X+Y=1

Resolve and you get:
X=1/4 Y=3/4

Y=Thu
X=MO

so Y/X=3/1
