Is it not a case of back to back modifier? I think it is and hence the OA doesn't make sense to me.

Experts please explain.

Hi shothitk,

A sentence can include more than one modifying phrase. The modifiers in this sentence are arranged correctly:

The phrase "until 1928" and "WHEN the games in Amsterdam...." is correct ("when" refers to 1928).

The phrase "by Coca Cola" and "the soft drink company" and "WHICH is also credited with...." is also correct ("which" refers to Coca Cola).

Hi Rich,

Thanks for the reply. The phrase "by Coca Cola" followed by "the soft drink company" and "WHICH is also credited with...." has two back to back modifiers.

I remember reading during my prep that back to back modifiers should be avoided and hence I got confused. Can you please help me understand the rule behind back to back modifiers?
