Hello,
I managed to find some of the test prep books from the library. However some of them are older editions. Is there a big difference from year to year? Would a year 2000 edition of say the Kaplan GRE & GMAT math workbook, still be relevant?
Please advise.

Overall, there isn't much difference in content between yearly editions. I think that you should be fine studying the materials from the Kaplan 2000 book.

Be sure to download the GMATPrep software though--they are available for free at MBA.com.

I wouldn't go quite that far back, actually. The test does evolve slowly over time, as does the test prep community's understanding of how to teach the test. In addition, the company that used to write the test was replaced two years ago by a new company (meaning, new authors) and that will increase the frequency of change a bit.
