Tiger Beetles are such fast runners that they can capture virtually any nonflying insect.however,when running towards an insect , a tiger beetle will intermittentaly stop and then , a moment alter, resume its attack. Perhaps the bettle cannot maintain their pace and must rest for a moment ;but an alternative hypothesis is that while running , tiger beetles are unable to adequately process the resulting rapidly changing visual information and so quickly go blind and stop.

Which of the following , if discovered in experimernts using artifical prey, would support one and undermine the other hypothesis

A) When a prey insect is moved directly towards a bettle that has been chasing it , the beetle immed stops and runs away without intermittent stopping
B) in pursuing a swerving insect, a beetle alters its course while running and its pause become more frequent as the chase progresses
C)in pursuing a moving insect a beetle usually respons immediately to changes in the insects direction and it pauses equally frequently whether the chase is up or down the incline
D)if, when a beetle pauses, it has not gained on the insect it is pursuing, it gives up
E)the faster a beetle pursues an insect fleeing directly away from it, the more frequently it stops

i got the answer correct but my logic ad the logic in the explanation seems to be very different so want to see how other people solve it

B) in pursuing a swerving insect, a beetle alters its course while running and its pause become more frequent as the chase progresses :as it is changing direction it is not blinded,and as it pauses so the hypo is proved as well
C)in pursuing a moving insect a beetle usually respons immediately to changes in the insects direction and it pauses equally frequently whether the chase is up or down the incline: does not prove that there is problem in vision
D)if, when a beetle pauses, it has not gained on the insect it is pursuing, it gives up: irrelevant completely
E)the faster a beetle pursues an insect fleeing directly away from it, the more frequently it stops: same as D

Beetle immediately stops means, it is able to process the changing imagery.. runs away without stopping means it can maintain pace..

B) in pursuing a swerving insect, a beetle alters its course while running and its pause become more frequent as the chase progresses
Beetle alters course. able to parse imagery. pause become more frequent means cannot maintain their pace

Why is A wrong??
