I just finished taking the OG 13th Edition Diagnostic Test. My results are as follows:
Problem Solving - Average
Data Sufficiency - Below Average
Reading Comprehension - Average
Critical Reasoning - Above Average
Sentence Correction - Above Average
I'm currently following the Magoosh 3 Month GMAT Study Schedule (Math Focused).
I'm pretty rusty in math as evidenced by my low placement but am hoping that with 3 months of study, I will be able to bring back some of my skills and knowledge. I feel pretty good about my verbal skills and feel that with a bit of strategy and review, I can attain a high score without much of an effort.
Am I approaching GMAT preparation correctly in focusing on my math? In conjunction with the study schedule, I'm also working my way through the Kaplan GMAT Math Workbook. I'm planning on taking 4-5 practice GMAT's before the actual test.
I'm looking to apply to UCLA's FEBMA (Fully Employed MBA) program for Fall 2014 admittance. As such, I'm aiming for a GMAT score between 650 and 700. My GPA is 3.73.
Can anyone provide me feedback on my study plans? I plan to take the GMAT in October in preparation for first round application in November.
Lastly, do most schools require the official results from the GMAT when you apply or can you self report your score and later in the process, provide the school with you official results? For example, if applications are due November 1st, can I take the GMAT on October 31st and fill out my application with my "self reported" GMAT results or do I need to account for some lag time between taking the test, applying, and receiving my official results?
