22. None of the attempts to specify the causes of crime
explains ........

I believe NONE of THE ATTEMPTS......EXPLAIN..... should be the correct version.

I may be incorrect but then would like to know the rules here.

Cheers!

D is good here. Go through the MGMAT SC guide book, chapter number 13, you will get an answer.

Guys, the correct answer is indeed D no question \ concerns on that.

The point I am try to make is:

NONE of THE ATTEMPTS to specify the causes of crime EXPLAINS........ (see the CAPITAL)

I believe NONE of THE ATTEMPTS......EXPLAIN..... should be the correct version so whether GMAT question is incorrectly written???????

Dear Goat,

Since you have not underlined the sentence and as per what I see the part what you are talking about is non-underlined. Therefore, it is official and correct. We are not trying to correct non-underlined part of the sentence, we have to focus on underlined part and correct the same
