If you read the section that I have mentioned in the subject line, you will notice that it says "as" is a conjunction of manner and is followed by a verb.

Ex: Do as I say, not as I do.

I am confused which verb is followed by "as"?
Can a GMAT SC expert explain or elaborate on the above statement and example? Also, please provide additional example to help me understand the statement.

It says 'as' is followed by a verb and not that a verb is followed by 'as'.
Do as i say, not as I do.
Do in green is the verb, and 'as' follows it.

Hi,
Conjunctions are used to connect words,word groups,sentences.
Here, it is connecting word groups (phrases and clauses).
So, 'as' is followed by the clause 'I say' in the first part and clause 'I do' in the latter part.

Hi,
In the last line you mentioned 'as' follows 'do' => 'do' is followed by 'as'.
But, your first line is the converse of that. Kindly check this.

Example: 33 people follow you => You are followed by 33.
