Stmt II

Pick a integer and fraction to get both a yes and no

x/y = y-1

x = y^2-y

Let y=3

x=6
x>y yes

y=1/2

x= 1/4-1/2

= -1/4

x>y NO

INSUFF

Sorry! I made a typo error on stmt 2. It should be:

Is x>y?

(1) x=y+2

(2)x/2=y-1

now take statement 2 i.e. x = 2(y-1)
consider y = 1 => x=0 therefore x<y
now consider y = 3 => x = 4 therefore x>y.
Statement 2 Not sufficient.

These problems look more difficult than they are :) . You just have to keep cool and pick numbers carefully. It works 99% of times.
