The official GMATPrep tests remain the BEST available predictors of test-day performance. Now, that doesn't mean they are 100% accurate; it means that they are the most accurate predictor out there.

I think it's pretty accurate, IF:
- you took the test in timed conditions
- you took a maximum of 10 minutes break between sections
- you do not usually feel abnormally stressed during real tests

I took GMATprep 2 something like three days before my real test. On the CAT I scored a 760, while on the real thing it was a 770. This is extremely accurate, since the GMAT is designed to have a 30-point confidence level, which means that if you take the test one day and retake it the other, both scores are within 30 points of each other.

Hello! I'm new here and I am preparing the GMAT (well I have started today!) for Feb 10th. I just did the GMAT Prep Test 1 without preparing it and got 630, q47 (13 mistakes), v31 (14 mistakes). So I guess I really have to prepare the verbal... Although it is a bit weird... I got a higher % in correct questions in the verbal part and got a significant lower score!

My goal is 680 (although more than 700 would be great!) What is your recommendation for my study? Thanks a lot!!!

That's a pretty nice score you have there! But get used to the scoring: the verbal is scored much more harshly than quant.
