NUS MBA

by achan » Tue Jul 19, 2011 10:27 am
I'm planning do an MBA from a reputed univ in Asian region and thinking of NUS as an option because of it's good rankings. Not sure whether I'll be able to make it, but like to get some of my queries clarified.

I've got more than 10 years of exp in a top IT company with 4 years of International exp across UK,Australia and US , more than 5 years in project management handling large teams across the globe. PMP certified, SCJP certified, Received lot of awards and appreciations.
Academics 10th -89%, 12th -85%,B Tech(Comps Engg) - 6.9/10. Planning to take GMAT in oct/nov time frame.

My questions

What can be the salary I can expect if I come out with an NUS MBA with this much experience ( Not sure whether I'll get thru, but just want to check as the average exp I can see is 5 years or so). If there are similar profiles who are placed with a NUS MBA, I believe that will give an insight..The NUS site has some data but I dont' know how relevant it is and not sure whether it's SGD or USD and that should be to less than 5 years exp?

What can be the roles that will be offered with 10 years exp?

What should be the GMAT score that should be targeted ?

Will it be too late to give GMAT in oct/nov ?

Will it be too late to go for MBA at this age ? Is there any other MBA which suits my profile( not interested in Europe, US) ?

Is NUS bit reluctant in entertaining applicants with more than 10+ exp ?

Hi,

You can look at this if you are targeting Asian B schools.

Avg Salary from NUS ranges from 75-80 K USD per annum. With your experience you can expect may be a USD 100-110K. Since you are from a tech background you can expect a BD role in an IT services company or a Sr. product manager role in a technology product company such as Google ( Google recruits from NUS).

Try taking GMAT by Sep end. NUS opens in first week on Oct and has rolling admissions. So, its best to submit your application by 20 oct.

No, you are not too late. Yes US schools won't take you as they rarely take anyone with 8+ years of experience. You can try European schools and they prefer candidates with high work ex.

NUS is open to applicants with 10 years of experience.

Hope this helps.
