if J and K are the positive int where k>J what is the value of reminder when K is divided by J ??
1>There exists a positive int M such that k = jM + 5
2> J>5

the answer has to be C for we need to know if J > 5 or not
for only if J > 5 i can say that remainder of K when divided by j will be 5 .think of a situation when J < 5 the remainder can be anything from 0,1 ,2 ,3 ,4 but once i know that J >5 then i can be sure that remainder is definitely 5

don know cant we contradict the ans with 19= 7(2) + 5 and 19 = 6(3) + 1
in both cases k>5 but reminder is differant

plz take example that follow both the condition !!

in other words u cud have written 23 = 6 (3) + 5 now in this case the remainder of 23 divided by 6 will be 5
make sense ?

Statement 1: Consider the following two examples,
k = 6, j = 1, M = 1 ---> Remainder = 0
k = 7, j = 2, M = 1 ---> Remainder = 1

Not sufficient

Statement 2: We have no idea about the value of j and k.

Not sufficient

1 & 2 Together: k = jM + 5 and j > 5
This is nothing but saying that when k is divided by j, the quotient is M and the remainder is 5.

Sufficient

The correct answer is C.
