1). x/y=2
x = 2y.
x + y = 3y.
y can be any value, so INSUFF
2). y^2=4
y = +/-2. No info about X so INSUFF

Combining both we get x =2y and y = +/-2
y = 2, x + y = 6
y = -2, x + y = -6

We get two values So INSUFF.

IMO E.
Getting defeated is just a temporary notion, giving it up is what makes it permanent.
