hi frnds,

i got this one wrong, still cant figure out the reason, plz help..!!


What is the product of a certain pair of consecutive odd integers?
1. Exactly one of the integers is negative
2. At least one of the integers is positive


• Statement (1) ALONE is sufficient, but Statement (2) ALONE is not sufficient
• Statement (2) ALONE is sufficient, but Statement (1) ALONE is not sufficient
• BOTH statements TOGETHER are sufficient, but NEITHER statement ALONE is sufficient
• EACH statement ALONE is sufficient
• Statements (1) and (2) TOGETHER are NOT sufficient


what should be the ans??

I think E ..

R u sure the Question stem/ Answers states only this much ,...

If the question is asking u abt the value i dont think its possible,,
can i know the source of the Question.

The question says "a pair of consecutive odd integers"

Stmt1: Exactly one is negative. That means the other one is certainly positive. The only pair possible in this situation is -1 and 1. This pair has a product of -1. This is sufficient.

Stmt2: At least one is positive. The other could be negative or positive. If the other is negative then we are left with the same choice as in Stmt1. If the other integer is positive then there are infinite possibilities. This is insufficient.

Hence A.
