After studying for several months and taking both GMAT Prep practice exams where I scored 680 and 700, I took the GMAT yesterday and got a 590 (35 in both sections). The worst part was the Quant (41st percent) because I was a math major! Not only a math major, but I went back to finish up and just graduated in December so math is super fresh in my head, especially the types of math on the GMAT because I took a history of math class my last semester which went over the discovery of all the GMAT topics and I KNEW them.

I ran out of time. Basically I ended up guessing on the last 8 problems, which is a HUGE percentage of the math section. I got a 35 on the verbal as well, lower than I'd been doing, but I think I was so freaked out from the math section that I was distracted and also went too fast as I finished that section with 40 minutes extra.

I need to retake. I'm fully capable of getting a 700+. I thought my timing was fine since I did well on both practice tests, but apparently that wasn't true. Also, I had a headache which didn't help much.

I need to take more practice tests and practice more on math in general. I'd gone through all the Official Guide books. Does anyone have any recommendations for good places for practice tests that have especially hard quant? I am going to retake in six weeks.
