I was just wondering that what does this status update really mean
"Not invited for interview"
actually means. Does it mean that application is rejected or it means that there is still hope? Is there any status update like "REJECTED".

I will really appreciate any comment on this topic.

Hi

For those B-schools wherein inteview is a necesary step of admission process - this message means that you are not shortlisted for interview.
However, there are some B-Schools which provide interview waiver (especially in R3,R4) in case college is unable to process all applications. Here, you may consider that your application is still live.
It would help if you can name the B-School.

Ask the school adcom! It will be much faster. Subject it "Prospective Student: Query regarding admission status" or something, else they'll take time.
