Hello,
I will be an engineering graduate from Manipal, India by next month and wish to pursue an MBA in September 2011. I know most of you will advise getting some work experience before I jump into MBA, but due to personal reasons, I would prefer to commence the program by next year.
My query is where can I apply without much work ex? I really do want to get in one of the Top B schools preferably in the UK. My college grades have not been extraordinary though I do have good internships and great extra curriculum activities under my belt.
Please do help

You can apply to Many B-schools. also do check out HBS2+2. Good intern+extra curriculum doesn't assure seat in TOP B-schools mate, as there is a stiff competition. As far as I know, in UK TOP B-schools look for minimum 2yrs of experience.
The journey is everything...

In your essays you're going to have to explain how you can add to the classroom experience. ESPECIALLY for HBS! After having visited last week and see the case study in action and listening to the admissions director speak, it's important that you are able to enrich the classroom experience for others.
My goal is to make MBA applicants take onus over their process.

Unfortunately, it will be very difficult (if not impossible) to gain acceptance to a "top" business school with mediocre grades and zero work experience. You might have better luck looking for a master's program.

I don't want to sound negative, but, I also don't want you to waste your time. ;-)
