Next year Mary will be a first-year student at Riverdale University where all first-year students are required to enroll in a science course. Moreover, all students are required to enroll in a chemistry course for their first two years at Riverdale. Therefore, it is untrue that Mary will only be enrolled in foreign language courses next year.

The pattern of reasoning displayed in the argument above is most closely paralleled by which one of the following arguments?

(A) The revised zoning restrictions do not apply to construction that began before January of last year, and only two of the newly allocated zones apply to construction within the city limits, so the revised zoning restrictions do not apply to the Anderson Building, where construction began this fall.

(B) Since according to the latest revisions in the tax code, non-profit businesses are exempt from income tax, and churches are considered non- profit businesses, Saint Mary's Church will not need to withhold income taxes from its receipts.

(C) All homes on Riverwalk Bend will be subject to increased association dues with the next semi-annual payment and the Jones Family home is located at the end of Riverwalk Bend. So, the Jones Family will pay more in association dues this year.

(D) All buildings completed before the end of May will be grandfathered in under the old rent control regulations that allow landlords to increase rents once every five years. Since the Emityville apartment complex will be completed in April, its rent control regulations will allow for periodic adjustments.

(E) Office buildings, like the Hamilton building, that provide recycling facilities are exempt from county waste-management fees. Also, none of the buildings in the new Mega-Parc business complex are required to pay any county-imposed fees. Thus, the Hamilton building, located in the Mega-Parc business complex, will not be subject to county waste-management fees.
