72) What is the remainder when positive integer x is divided by 3?
a. When x is divided by 6 remainder is 2
b. When x is divided by 15, remainder is 2

Edit. I'm terribly sorry. The previous posting makes no sense, as I lost the exponents for some reason. The above question is correct.

Ya the question sounded kind of strange before.

Now for this one you can just pick numbers.

Statement I:

Pick 8:

Remainder for division by 6 and by 3 is 2.

Pick 14: Same thing

Pick 20: Same thing

SUFFICIENT

for statement II:

Pick 17:

Remainder for division by 15 and by 3 is 2.

Pick 32: Same thing

Pick 47: Same thing

SUFFICIENT

I) When x is divided by 6 remainder is 2

Number must be in the form of ( 6a + 2 ) == a is any integer

( 6a + 2 ) / 3 === 6a / 3 + 2 / 3

6a/3 -- No remainder

2/3 --- remainder will be 2 always. { sufficient }

II ) When x is divided by 15, remainder is 2

Number must be in the form of ( 15b + 2 ) === b is any integer

same as before 15b/3 -- no remainder

2/3 - 2 remainder

sufficient
