Hi BTG Community,

I am going to appear in the exam in next 2 days. I am weaker in Maths than In English. (Or let me rephrase this like a DS question:) I am less confident in Quant section)

Though I have tried most of the material I wanted, the best I have score in the practice test on Quant is 44. I need 46 to make up to my desirable score. Can somebody give me last minute tip of what might increase my score by 2-3 marks.....Anything I can do in 2 days from now.

I know its kind of silly but I want to turn every stone....Even if it is silly..Ah....you know that.

My name is Mike, and I am one of the GMAT Math experts at Magoosh, an online GMAT prep place. I'd be happy to help you. :)

The catch is --- I need to get a little information. Do you have any sense of your typical mistakes? What topics in math are stronger and weaker?

Consider these six "buckets" of content area
(a) basic number properties (even/odd, factors, primes, etc.)
(b) percents, ratios & proportions
(c) statistics, counting, probability
(d) algebra
(e) geometry
(f) work problems

Of those six, in which do you have the greatest room for improvement?

I'd keep your focus on harder algebra questions, word problems, and number properties, but at this point, there isn't too much you can do.

You may be able to squeeze out those points, but it depends on the questions you see. I'd reinforce your strategy and just do a little review on your approach in both DS and PS.

First of all, for a little on probability, go to the Magoosh blog (https://magoosh.com/gmat/), and the first post there is one I just wrote, "Averages and Sums Formulas," which you may find helpful. You can also check out other posts on that blog.

I also attached the pdf of the first draft of a blog post I wrote on problems with factors, covering a few important basic number properties. This will be posted on the blog above in a couple days, but because you have your GMAT very soon, I wanted to get this information to you.

If you can incorporate those ideas, I believe that will pay some dividends. Please let me know if you have any questions.
