I am struggling to identify my problem and improve my score. Below is a list of what I've done -
Almost 2 years ago -
Took a Manhattan GMAT course (and did not study then) and now have no recollection of anything from class
Finally started studying in Feb '08
1) Feb '08 - Took the pre-studying diagnostic test in the OG 11th edition and got a 550. Read/studied the MGMAT guide books (all of them).
2) Mar '08 - Completed all problems once, in an ascending order, in OG 11th Edition, OG Verbal, and OG Math (averaged 65-75% correct). Decided that Math was my problem.
3) Apr '08 - Re-did OG 11th Edition Math and OG Quantitative Math using all the subsets listed in the MGMAT all Math coursebooks. (averaged 85% correct)
4) Apr '08 - Took a practice test using the software downloaded from mba.com and got a 560.
5) May '08 - Purchased Kaplan's 2008 Premier Program and Kaplan 800. Read Kaplan t800 Math section and did all the Math problems twice. First time = 75%, second time = 90% correct.
6) Took a Kaplan paper diagnostic test in Kaplan Premier 2008 and got a 550.
7) Also read and did all the problems in Kaplan Premier 2008 Math section once.
8) Took the practice exam on the Kaptest.com (Kaplan online) and got a 640
9) Started reading Verbal in Kaplan 800.
10) Last weekend - Took a practice CAT test on Kaplan CD (from the 2008 Premier) and got a 560
11) This weekend - Took another practice CAT test on Kaplan CD and got a 550.
Sorry for this long posting. I'm extremely frustrated (and almost feel like giving up. I feel that I do have a core understanding of the Math/Verbal concepts in the MGMAT books, and whenever I do a problem wrong and do it again for a second time later, I learn it and get it, but then I do a new set of problems and I do terribly. I study averaging 20 hours a week. I am or i was shooting for 700. Now I feel as if I have exhausted all my resources and time (planned to take at the end of June).
I know that my weaker part is Data Suffiency (always fall into traps) and Reading Comprehension and Critical Reasoning (fail to recognize main point).
I cant possible do all the problems in the GMAT world nor can I predict what type of problems will be on my test.
I'm not sure what to do anymore.
