Hey Guys,
I need very important advice from you guys about the GMAT study strategy.
Without any study, I took GMAT prep test 1 and got 450. How much do I need to study to get 700. I have engineering background and feel good about math section but NOT verbal. Need extra help on verbal.
I work full time and my daytime job is very busy. I can study probabaly 1 hour everyday weekdays and 10-12 hours on weekend.
I have OG 10th edition, OG quant and OG verbal and Princeton GMAT for study. My goal is to get into Northwestern or Chicago part time program.

What I need is a solid plan to study for couple months and take exam early July.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hey,
You need to analyse all the questions you get wrong and understand why you are getting them wrong. Detailed reviews are very important. The only way to learn GMAT Quant / Verbal is to review mistakes and apply the learnings to the next time you do the test. At this stage I think you should learn some of the fundamental rules in both Quant and Verbal and understand them. Practise all the questions in OG and should be able to answer any question in 2 mins. Once you can do this confidently try taking the test again and see if you have improved. If you havent you need to review the incorrect questions again!

To help improve CR work some Logical Reasoning problems from the LSAT. These problems tend to be more difficult and often provide better practice. To improve RC, read well written periodicals and newspapers such as the Wall Street Journal.

IMHO how much time it would take entirely depends upon you. You should take tests every week or so to evaluate yourself. For Quant if you need to brush up on topics MGMAT is great. I found them very useful in my study.

I hear for CR Powerscore CR is very valuble as well as MGMAT Sentence correction workbook.

I have started the MGMAT SC workbook and its seems like its doing its job fairly well!

For RC...the only thing that might be useful is to read read read as much scientific abstruse language as possible and make sense of it. Subscribe to The Economist if you can.
