Need Advice to Improve Verbal Score !! PLeasee!!!

I just gave my first practice test and scored a dissapointing 600. Though I made equal no. of mistakes in quant and verbal, the thing that is worrying me the most is that I didn;t have time to finish the verbal section. I often found myself falling behind the set target (1/3rd of the questions in 25 mins) and ended up guessing the answers for the last 3 questions.

The breakdown of my mistakes in the verbal section is as follows :
RC - 2 mistakes
CR - 6 mistakes
SC - 7 mistakes

I have completed the CR and RC from OG 11 and OG verbal, answered most questions accurately but the problem I never timed my practice. :oops: :cry:

So here is what I need advice on :
1. Do buy PowerScore for CR ?
2. Do I go back and solve all the CR questions from OG Verbal and OG 11 again ?
3. Do I need to buy the Manhattan book for SC ?

And anything else you think will help me improve my verbal score.

I'll try to answer your second question first. I personally don't think that you should re-do the OG. This is because you might remember some of the questions and their answers, so your hit rate won't be that representative of your skill, particularly if you've only just finished the OG. Besides, we tend to memorize especially those questions that we got wrong, so that might also impact your performance: you'd pick a good answer instead of what you'd usually pick just because that question was particularly tricky and you spent a lot of time analyzing it.

I loved the Powerscore CR Bible: it really opened my eyes about many of the subtleties of the CR section. I can't really say if it's going to help your timing, though. I didn't care about that aspect, since my timing was pretty good to start with. It was my accuracy that I needed to work on...

As for MGMAT SC guide, I've heard only positive reviews about it. If you think SC is an area to work on, you should heed the advice of the many and invest in this tool.
