Need Advice...GMAT This Saturday and I am NOT ready.

thought six weeks of studying for the GMAT would be enough but who was I kidding. I have my test scheduled for this Saturday. I have been scoring in the 400s in my practice tests :cry: but I need at least a 600.

I was accepted into a program in Sept (based on my work experience) and was granted an extension to take the GMAT. I was given until Nov 2nd to turn in my score but I scheduled the test for Oct 13th thinking I'd be able to score that no problem.

So here I am less than 36 hours away from taking the test and I am no where near the 600. I called earlier this week to reschedule for Nov 1st but was told I would have to pay the full fee once again. I figured if I'm paying the full amount again, I might as well just take it and pray that by some miracle I'll get the 600. If I do not meet this score, I will not be allowed to continue the program. Now I wish I would have taken care of the GMAT first and then applied for a program.

Any advice???

Since you have to pay the whole amount again as well might give it a try. Also since u only have till nov2nd is another two weeks going to make that much of a difference? Just think positive and give the exam. Till then just do as much practice from the OG as you can.

I don't think you have a choice but to go for it as well. Cleanbold is right that an additional two weeks could have only incremental value for your preparation.

I'm really pulling for you, and I hope you succeed on your test. You've got your work cut out for you, but go in confident and make it happen!

Go for it and hope -- and work -- for the best! Try not to psyche yourself out of it. Eat well and don't do any prep right before. Give yourself at least a 12-hour break. Cramming can only make anxiety worse.

And yeah, if you need to, you can do Nov. 1. You'll at least know what it's about and that it's not so scary.

I think I've already missed the window here but you are only allowed to take the test once in any 31 day period, NOT once in a calendar month (this rule changed about a year and a half ago). So if you take it in mid-Oct, you cannot take it again on Nov 1 b/c 31 days will not have passed.
