Nancy, a car dealer, put 4 cars on sale. All cars on sale belong to one of the gear models: automatic or manual gear. Of the cars on sale, is the percent of hybrid vehicles at least 40%?

1) Of the cars, Nancy put on sale, 30 percent of the cars with automatic gear are hybrid vehicles.
2) Of the cars, Nancy put on sale, 80 percent of the cars with manual gear are hybrid vehicles.

Is there a typo in the question? If Nancy only put 4 cars on sale, then it's impossible for "30% of the cars with automatic gear are hybrids" to be true, because then there's no way for the number of automatic hybrids to be an integer (unless there are zero of them, but then it makes no sense to say specifically that "30% are hybrids").

If we weren't given a total number of cars, the answer would be E, because all we could say is that the proportion of hybrids is between 30% and 80%. We'd need some information about the balance of automatic and manual cars to say anything more - if almost all of the cars are automatic, the overall percentage that are hybrids could be very close to 30%.
