My problem with RC and sometimes CR

Expert replies
by fangtray » Wed Mar 07, 2012 5:58 am
The hardest part i think about RC and sometimes CR is i have a hard time understanding the passage or stimulus. I tend to have to read sentences several times to get the meaning. Sometimes I'm reading, but im not actually absorbing the material. I"m not sure if its because the material is so ridiculously boring or I can't get focused. Does anybody else have this problem?

I don't care if it's boring, its counting towards your score. But if I don't understand it I will slow down and try to really get a grasp. The long science ones I don't focus on learning every detail, just getting the main points. Getting bored isin't an excuse- if you have trouble slow down and try to understand if you feel your completely lost.

See, if you are having this problem, then you need to practice these RCs more and more. Only then will you be able to develop good concentration and you will get quicker. Speed can only be built through practice.

Also, read the standard GMAT materials to understand standard question types and that will help you tackle them better.
