v is common to both m and p. there are 2 possibilities:
if v is (-) and you divide both sides by v: m > p > 0.
If v is (+) and you divide both sides by v: m < p < 0

Since choice A tells you m < p; we know that v is (+): SUFFICIENT

Choice B tells us that m is (-). If m is (-), v must be (+) b/c mv < 0. Thus SUFFICIENT.
