by tsmith93 » Sun Feb 21, 2010 4:27 pm
At Music Outlet the regular price for a CD is d dollars. How many CDs can be purchased for m dollars when the CDs are on sale at 50% off the regular price?

when there is a sale rate of cd = 0.5d
So, we can purchase m/0.5d=2m/d CDs

Hence, we can purchase m/0.5d=2m/d cds

Is something missing in the question??

harsh.champ I think nothing is missing just for the cost which is not given in numbers but a constant 'm' so I think it's ok.
Well options would have been more fruitful and enjoying to solve the problems..

Price of a CD = d
Amount = m

No of CDs that can be purchased with 50% discount = m/(d*50/100) = 2*m/d
