If one number is chosen at random from the first 1000 positive integers what is the probability that the number chosen is a multiple of both 2 and 8?

A) 1/125

B) 1/8

C) 1/2

D)9/16

E)5/8

IMO C

multiple of both 8 and 2 will be multiple of 8


in the first 1000 there are 1000/8 = 125 multiples of 8


thus 125/1000 = 1/8

yes you are right ....thats such a silly mistake ...i hope i can avoid it on the real test
