MS- Finance or MBA

by mgmt_gmat » Tue Dec 14, 2010 8:39 pm
Hi Friendz,

I have received the admission offer from UT Dallas MS Finance and University of Kentucky MBA. But, I am not sure which one I will take. Can you please share the recent job market in Finance in USA.

I have completed bachelors and master in Mechanical Engineering from reputed universities in India. After that, I have 4 year exp in IT sector in top MNC.

Kindly suggest.

Thanks

I would save your MBA. If you work in F500, most places will consider an MSF to be equal to an MBA. For high end finance, the name brand of the MBA is of utmost importance. No sense getting a non technical degree that isn't going to benefit you brand-wise.

I agree with MSFHQ. I don't think that an MBA from University of Kentucky would open a world of opportunities for you. That MBA program doesn't figure in the top 100 ,if I am not wrong.
