by andy123 » Tue Dec 28, 2010 8:14 am
Hi Guys

Could you please suggest how is MLIC Turbocharge course in Singapore ?

They are going to teach for 5 days / 40 hrs.. in class and rest is their study material.

Please let me know your reviews if you have heard about this company - their website does not seem to be a usual one.

Thanks
Andy.

Hmm... I remember seeing some posts about them posting fake reviews in certain forums. Just search our forums for "MLIC" and you'll get some opinions: https://www.beatthegmat.com/best-gmat-pr ... 18473.html

Some of them are older, though!

I can't help you more than that, sorry... However, I will say that most reputed prep companies also offer an online version of their classes! You may be interested in those.

WARNING:

I took the MLIC Weekend Intensive Prep Course over the weekend in Singapore and it was the biggest mistake I have ever done. The highlight was that the instructor told us to (Quote:) "Shut the f... up."

But I'll start from the beginning:
Before the course starts (after you transfered the money naturally) you receive pre-course material that you are supposed to work through. This material was very unstructured and a total mess: different font sizes/types, unfinished sentences...

The course itself is even worse. There is no structure at all. My course was held in a hotel where the instructor seems to stay. He used the executive lounge which he had excess to for free. In the afternoon we were sitting in the isle at a table. That means we were constantly distracted by the "ding dong"-sound of the elevator and by people walking by. I am telling you, not a good environment to think about critical reasoning and hard math problems...

The instructor
- couldn't have cared less,
- talked in a very bored manner,
- gave his "lecture" without taking the students and their needs into consideration,
- was impatient when asked to explain a problem,
- reacted aggressively when we students confronted him by saying (politly!!!) that we are not very satisfied
- And last but not least: He insulted us and used abusive language (Quote: "Shut the f... up").

Speechless of this behaviour I decided to not stay till the end. When I requested my assignments back that I had handed in for corrections the instructor refused to give them back to me.

This MLIC really takes advantage of people's anxiety of the GMAT and does not offer any value for the 1,595$ they charge. Please warn everyone you know as only this way MLIC can be stopped.

MLICETS is a FRAUDULENT company! Do not use them! Save your money for another company.

The service was never delivered and was not what the merchant promised. I purchased ($1,490.00) and scheduled a prep class through MLIC to prepare me for the Graduate Record Examination. My test date was on July 21, 2011 and I could not change it due to application deadlines. The company scheduled me to attend the prep course on Friday, July 8th through Tuesday, July 12th. On the 5th of July, three days prior to my scheduled class date the company informed me that the class was no longer available to me (even after I had payed in full) for that weekend and that I would have to reschedule for a later date. I was later informed that I was removed from the class because they overbooked it.

In addition to that they have not tried to solve the issue. They initially tried to convince me to take the course in Chicago but were unwilling to properly fund my trip. The company has not accommodated me in any way for their mistake and has disregarded my test date and deadlines and many of my e-mails. In regards to my test date they tried to stick me into a class after that date which defeats the purpose of a "prep" course. I have tried to solve the issue repeatedly with the company and they are not cooperating. They have been extremely unprofessional and rude to deal with on the phone and are acting in a fraudulent manner. They have hung up on me during a conversation on the phone and have treated me like I was the problem. They were so disrespectful; I do not know how they can treat their customers in this manner and still be in business, especially when they are competing against Kaplan and Princeton. This is a terrible company and should be shut down.
